11 of us ate here this evening. Having been told last week they did not take bookings for the bar, turned up at 6pm,... the young lady behind the bar was extremely helpful and done us a table in the conservatory. Service was extremely good, 2 young ladies served us. Food was excellent. The lady with the long hair was very polite, helpful and professional. Food is amazing very reasonable prices stay here regularly home from home just had 5 nights all we could get this year.... Staff all new and all polite friendly and give excellent service Mark our only member left now manager is doing a fabulous job front of house and as chef at times nothing to much trouble. Not much yet with events but only natural with Covid did see the classic cars whilst there unfortunately missed the hog roast taking place today. Standard in rooms are excellent kept up by Kristy and Dominic well done though a little tired and in need of decorating our mattress and pillows were a bit uncomfortable for us this time but you get used to your own. Breakfast very good but the food in general is unbelievable keep up the good work mark and your wonderful team and Brian and Angela it’s in very safe hands thank you for a lovely stay will be backread more

8 of us came for food and drinks Saturday. Man behind the bar was rude straight away. 2 waitresses were run off their... feet and we cleared our table ourselves before seating. Food was dry and bland and we didn't even get knives and folks with our food. I waited a further 40mins for our plates to be cleared. we left and our plates plus the plates we cleared ourselves were never done. The man behind the bar was rude once again when we asked for sauces and knives and folks. A jug of water took over 30 mins to come out and my partner couldn't get a waitress to come to our table to discuss the food and we left hungry and utterly disappointed from start to finish.Complete waist of moneyread more

I went to the lodge last night the staff were rude and I felt very uncomfortable I asked a couple of questions and was... made to feel like a nuisanceI think the staff need some training on customer servicesI am really upset about their behaviour it was my first visit there and because of this I would not return I will say the food was fine although the wait was an hour but the staff attitude was just too much Do you know manners cost nothing and neither does a smile or even tying to be helpful or friendly rather than thinking customers are some sort of enemyWill add that social distancing was well maintained and done wellread more

Was very excited to come here with the kids for the first time. What a disappointment. Bar manager was extremely rude!... Refused to put up the bouncy castle because of the "wind" there was a gentle breeze. My friend managed to pursuad him in the end which about 29 kids loved! No bread for the kids lunch box as they had run out (it was 12:45pm) kept telling the kids off for being near the bar when we were ordering food. Everything was too much effort for him. Food was cold. But one of my other friends has been before and said it had been loveky so we are hoping it's just a one off bad day. Really disappointed. Only one member of staff behind the bar taking food orders and serving drinks.read more

My daughter’s in-laws took us out to lunch here today. It was a beautiful day outside, there were many kids activities... and playground. They were very busy, so we grabbed drinks at the bar and sat outside and let the baby play a while. We decided to stay and have lunch. We were told it was a 45 minute wait for food, even though it was almost 2pm. We were seated inside quickly and our food arrived in about 15 minutes instead of 45, so we were very pleasantly surprised. The beer battered Cod was delicious and cooked perfectly, my daughter had the lamb shank which was also delicious! Everyone really loved their meals. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. I would love to return the next time I visit the UK!read more

We been the third time there with the family as we like the outside area for our grandkids, the food was ok the first... time, but yesterday it was not good at all, the salad wasn’t fresh, the kids burger was more burnt than anything, our food was just thrown together and no one of us ate their food, just disgusting! Had my husbands surprise 40th birthday party at the lodge marquee this month and I’m so pleased I chose this venue... everything was perfect!! Marquee looked stunning staff were friendly Ann and Jane the organisers were amazing with all their help and recommendations I couldn’t have done it without them! Due to it being a surprise they was receiving emails and calls at all times of the day but never failed to respond So ladies thank you once again for an amazing party Xxread more

We had our wedding reception last night at the lodge and what can I say from.start to finish it was amazing! I can't... recommend Jane enough, as a wedding coordinator she is fantastic, everything went to plan, the food was amazing and it was a fabulous evening! I would definitely recommend the marquee for all weddings and parties it was lovely! Thank you to all the staff as Well you made our night wonderful xxxread more
